Hello everyone! It's been a few weeks since I last posted. On Wednesday I went away to the Lake District with my geography class we stayed for 2 nights and came back today. It was so fun so I'm going to tell you about it. On the way we stopped at for lunch and we seen the beautiful Derwent Waters. We stayed in Borrowdale in a youth hostel, it was actually a really nice hostel and the rooms were always really warm because they were small and had a radiator. We went to do some fieldwork for one of our exams. When we arrived we unpacked and then we went out for a while in the river doing some practice work and people were falling in the river and getting soaking and it was so funny! Wellies were just great to have on but still got wet feet because the water was deep so it went in our wellies anyway. The food was really good first meal was a chicken dinner, it was okay but Thursdays meal was better as it was pizza and chips NOM! We also had soup for starters and custard and cake for desert. Anyway, on Thursday we went out again up to Honister Slate Mine and we measured a part of the river there, placing oranges in the water and counting how long they take to flow 10 metres to measure the velocity. We also did other things but we got soaking and people complaining they were cold so we stayed of at a cafe at the slate mine where we had hot chocolates, bacon sandwiches etc. On Thursday night we went on this 3 mile walk up and down mountains over waterfalls and it was such a great walk with beautiful scenery anyway, I can't be bothered to go into full details so I'm just gonna stop here but the Lake District is such a beautiful place.
